❏ Make a guest list
Once you know the capacity of your venue, you can think about who you want to spend your special day with.
❏ Send out invites
With the date, time and venue finalised, you can send out your invites. Make sure you do this well in advance of the date to guarantee your guests can make it.
❏ Choose your wedding gown or tuxedo
Next think about your own outfit, and the rest of the wedding party’s outfits. This will likely be when you’ll choose a colour scheme or wedding theme. It’s also worthwhile planning for your Wedding Gown preservation to be taken care of while you are away on your honeymoon. Don’t leave it to chance use specialists.
❏ Organise your bouquet and floral arrangements
Once you know your wedding theme or main colours, you can speak to a florist about your bouquet, button holes and floral decorations. Make sure you keep this cohesive with your outfits!
❏ Book a band or DJ
Think about the music you want at your reception and meet with your DJ or band to discuss setlists. Choose the band or DJ who knows how to play good music and throw an great party.
❏ Hire a professional photographer
If you really want to capture the magic of your big day, you’ll need to hire a professional photographer. A trained professional will offer you high quality, beautiful mementos of your special day that you’ll treasure forever.
❏ Meet with caterers and finalise a menu
Think about the food you will be serving and have a few tastings with local caterers. Find out about any food allergies or dietary requests from your guests before you finalise the menu to make sure you can cater to everyone.
❏ Organise wedding party transport
If you are hiring a car or two to get your wedding party to and from the wedding and reception, organise this now.
❏ Organise guest transport
It’s also worth thinking about how your guests are going to be making it to your wedding and reception – it might be a good idea to hire a coach.
❏ Book makeup artist and hairdresser
If you are booking a professional hairdresser or makeup artist for your wedding, have a trial run before booking to ensure you like the look they’ve put together.
❏ Put together a schedule for the day
To make sure that your day runs seamlessly, it’s a good idea to have a rough timetable in place so that everyone knows what to do and when. You should also give a copy to your groomsmen and wedding party so they can help guests on the day.
